Dead Sea Scrolls- APPEALS COURT Case
of Raphael Golb

DISCLAIMER

Thank you, I appreciate your interest in my writing. I am not an expert in any way, I am an English teacher. I teach mentally-retarded children, and I prefer to write about innocent and irrelevant things, such as Harry Potter, or Mona Lisa. I am a-political and non-commercial.
When Raphael Golb's case is over, I will return to Harry Potter with relief.

This blog does not accept comments,

except in the posts about Reasonable Doubt in the case of Jonathan Seidel.

I have a clear bias in favor of Raphael Golb's perspective,

and I realize it's unbalanced not to accept alternative views.

But I've decided not to be a discussion forum. I see now that accepting points of view leads me straight into debate and politics, and details I am not educated on, as well as confronts me with all the many and varied and colorful people out there who are invested in these topics. I also do not wish to bring Raphael's father's name into my blog, and I see that would be difficult to avoid.

My place is not in back-and-forth debate. I am an English teacher and I opened this blog to ask newspaper reporters to use vocabulary responsibly, writer to writer.

My place in this debate is to analyze what people mean by what they say, and how they say it (ie in court), as well as the precision of the language used to say it (ie the media).
Feel free to send me an email when you wish to direct my attention to anything.
Thank you.

MY FOCUS is: Raphael Golb's courtroom trial:
1) Evaluation of what, in my personal opinion, are mistakes (accuracies also) in popular, mainstream media coverage, having esp to do with interpretation of language and expression, by non-experts, of Raphael Golb's courtroom trial.

2) Promotion of my personal opinion that Raphael Golb did not do anything "criminal" -RIGHT OR WRONG.

In this blog:
I WILL NEVER DEBATE ANYONE,
I WILL NEVER RESPOND TO ANYONE,
NOT ANYWHERE, NOT ONLINE, NOT IN PERSON,
I WILL NEVER RESPOND TO ANYONE WHO LEAVES COMMENTS ANYWHERE ELSE.

I WILL NEVER EXPRESS A PERSONAL OPINION THAT INSULTS ANYONE,
I WILL NEVER MAKE A PERSONAL OR AD HOMINEM ATTACK,
I WILL NEVER EXPRESS A PERSONAL OPINION THAT CALLS INTO QUESTION ANYONE'S REPUTATION OR QUALIFICATIONS.
I WILL NEVER EXPRESS A PERSONAL OPINION THAT ANYONE LIED, UNLESS I WITNESSED IT MYSELF.

It is not my place to SINGLE OUT any individual to CRITICIZE PERSONALLY.
It is unavoidable when giving facts, to have to refer to specific people, and things they said or did;
But I will do my best, when I mention people, to do so WITHOUT STATING A SPECIFIC PERSONAL CRITICISM.
Occasionally I do succumb to a bit of sarcasm, but I try my best that it not be at any SPECIFIC PERSON's expense.

I WILL NEVER EXPRESS A PERSONAL OPINION of whether Dr. Lawrence Schiffman, or anyone else, did or did not plagiarize Raphael Golb's father, or anyone else.
I WILL NEVER EXPRESS A PERSONAL OPINION on matters that Raphael Golb, his father and colleagues complain about such as the "Monopoly," museum exhibits controversies, etc.
I WILL NEVER EXPRESS A PERSONAL OPINION to promote or to dismiss any scholarly view on any scholarly matter, not even pro or con Raphael Golb's father's scholarship and writings.

I am not a scholar on any of these topics. Nor have I ever studied law.
I HAVE NO INTEREST IN THE SCROLLS DEBATES- I am not a member of this discussion.
I am only interested in Raphael Golb's courtroom trial.

I seldom read Scrolls blogs, articles or websites,
I NEVER DEBATE OR RESPOND TO ANYONE.
I prefer to write what's on my own mind,
based on what I witnessed personally in the courtroom trial,
or read online, that is logical and polite.

I DO NOT WRITE ABOUT ANY OF THESE TOPICS ANYWHERE, EXCEPT IN THIS BLOG http://Deadseascrollstrial.blogspot.com (which I copy into other venues, however).

All opinions and information expressed in anything I write or say are MY OWN INTERPRETATIONS of the courtroom trial, and of what I have read online that I consider intelligent and polite.

Origin of this blog:
I attended Raphael Golb's courtroom trial in September. Reading mainstream media eyewitness newspaper articles reporting on the trial, I was surprised to see many differences from my own interpretation of what I witnessed in the courtroom.

I began this blog in order to evaluate the popular, mainstream media coverage- in particular, newspapers, by non-experts, of the courtroom trial.
